Out of inspiration? Take a shower or cook some pasta. Those stories about suddenly getting up to go walk in a forest amongst dandelion puffs and woodland creatures are lies.

Being in a crowd of people outside of your house will make you more annoyed than ever. Talking to a crowd of people will feel just like Twitter.

“Having a meeting” is code for “I am at Starbucks.”

A portion of your time spent online will be used to affirm that you are not alone in dealing with clients who are batshit crazy. The other portion can be spent trolling Twitter/Facebook, web designing, reading up on the latest tech and/or video game industry news, emailing clients, participating in intellectual banter on 4chan and/or underneath YouTube videos, lurking on many different design blogs, web designing some more, paying heed to the teachings of Courage Wolf, feverishly adding things you will probably never buy to your shopping cart on Amazon, and writing a witty post on Tumblr. In that order.

You can take a nap for three hours, suddenly go see a movie with your girlfriend, then come home and work until 4:00am. Or you can say, “My god, it’s beautiful outside today,” and commence playing a video game marathon, eat something, then work until 4:00am. The possibilities are endless.

Job security translates into surviving, monthly paycheck evolves into constant invoicing, electronica music replaces caffeine with the absence of easily annoyed coworkers, 6:00am transforms into 12:00pm, and limitations will cease to exist so long as your imagination holds up.

All told, freelancing is pretty damn awesome.

Disclaimer: I have never posted a comment on 4chan or YouTube. My examples should only be thought of as thoughtful speculation… yes.

I’m currently working with an insanely skilled digital concept...

I’m currently working with an insanely skilled digital concept artist named Andrée Wallin. The Swedish illustrator has been in need of a new website, and we’ve teamed up to make something that will undoubtedly turn the heads of art directors and be placed in bookmark folders for years to come.

Check out Andrée’s incredible work on his deviantArt page (where he is considered a superhero) until this project gets done.

"When you’re finished changing, you’re finished."

“When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.”

- Benjamin Franklin

My name is David Boni. I used to believe I’d never spend time...

My name is David Boni. I used to believe I’d never spend time writing my thoughts down online, having spent some of my brooding years as a teenager dropping almost-anonymous poetry somewhere on Google’s Blogger. Up until now my presence on the Internet has shifted from being completely guised to wide open and… I’d like to say “real” but The Matrix has taught me otherwise.

The abilities we possess to jump from the shadows, into the light, are extremely under-used in this arena that we call the World Wide Web. People are warming up to the fact that sort of literally “being” online is good (unfortunate that the training wheels have to be through the likes of Facebook, but that’s a rant for another day). It’s like having access to teleportation and telepathy early.

I envision an Earth with two layers—actual and virtual—in which we shift between like reflections across a warped, cracked mirror. There can be multiple facets, all with their own bends and distortion to the glass. But the cracks in the lens are fading away; crystal-clear information is what we seek, and the less obscurity the individual tolerates, the more knowledge he will gain.

So for now, I will exploit the excellent platform that is Tumblr to share with those intrigued enough what I have to say from time to time.
